So this week was my first transfer and I got my new
companion. I’m still getting to know him but so far it’s alright but we are
paired up for a reason, now the question is what! So, this week we didn't get
to do a lot of work because we had to introduce Elder Hall to the Ward and
Branch Members. We got to teach Tina and a few other people. We have Isabel and
Reynaldo close to Baptism. As of last night and we are hoping to find one more
soon! This week, Tina had a rough week and that just goes to show that when a
spiritual moment or land mark is coming like baptism, trials come!
The C.S.P.A. came buy trying to take her kids away because
of such bad living conditions, they interviewed her kids and they told them
that this is all they have and that the city won’t let them have water because
they are in a trailer... so all in all this week she has cut back from a pack
and half a day of smoking to three cigarettes a day and she almost lost her
kids.. She was really sad and depressed for a day or two... but me and Elder Hall
went over and gave her scriptures that encouraged her to keep going, many of
them about faith and that trials are a good hard thing. First Peter chapter 1:7,
it talks about your trials being more worth then gold. This one is important
because we become who we are and need to go through trials. This is as Peter
taught how we receive our glory! So everyone remember that when we have trials
that this is our glory and this is worth more than gold. And always, always,
always turn to the Savior, he is the only person in the universe that knows
exactly what you’re going through.... so why wouldn’t we go to him?
This week we get to go to the temple and I am very excited! I
have always had amazing experiences at the temple, you could ask Val or Chelsie
or Cameron, or Cole about that!
Know that you’re all missed and this week will be very
different for me having a birthday in the field.... but it all moves forward!
Always remember who your friend in heaven is. The Savior Jesus
Christ.
Love Elder Chase!
p.s. an Apostle is coming on October 26!
